Arriving in New Zealand in 2007 opened opportunities in Colorectal surgery, Corrections, and various aged care facilities across Auckland. Transitioning to an independent auditor role in the aged care sector eventually led to partnering with Martin Chan. Together, we expanded the business by acquiring two additional facilities in Belmont and Epsom.

I am grateful for a compassionate and dedicated team, their embodiment of our “Care, Love, and Support” mantra has been vital to the organisation’s success. The vision for the future includes advancements in software development and specialising in care for younger individuals with vascular dementia.

As CEO, my role involves active decision-making on business strategy and key policy matters. Responsibilities include implementing the organisation’s goals, targets, and strategic objectives while driving change and fostering a motivated team. Managers are supported in overseeing the daily operations across all facilities. Accountability extends to ensuring MA Healthcare’s vision is realised, alongside oversight of business decisions, marketing, operations, quality management, business development, maintenance, finance, and human resources.

Postgraduate studies in advanced clinical assessment and leadership/management from AUT have further enhanced my professional growth. Recognition as a Pinoy Hero in healthcare highlighted efforts in advocating for the rights of Filipinos and other ethnic communities in New Zealand. Transforming struggling aged care facilities into viable, compliant organisations has been a fulfilling achievement.

Beyond work, family brings the greatest joy. Married to an incredible woman and blessed with two daughters and a son, my time is spent singing, dancing, sketching, and enjoying nightly movie sessions with my wife.
